WATCH: 15 Examples Of Excellent Small Wave Surfing

Luke Gartside

23rd April 2020

While it’s big wave surfing that captures the headlines, we’ve always had a soft spot for small wave finesse.

Because there’s something special about seeing supremely stylish and creative surfing taking place on the sort of small, average, wobbly waves that most of us surf on the daily.

Over the last fortnight, we’ve been sharing a diverse array of clips on our Instagram featuring small wave surfing at its finest and now we’ve gathered them all here for you to enjoy again. There’s gliders, fishes, twinnies, finless foamies, mid-lengths and of course, the original small wave craft; the log.

While the lines and approaches vary widely, they’re united by an artfulness guaranteed to inspire you the next time you head out for a waist-high wiggle.
