Summer in Cali can be a little maddening.

Sure there’s occasional swells, but the crowds turn out in their hordes- and if you’re a surfer like Knost and Ericson, the long clean waves you love the most are the wave everyone loves. Accordingly, earlier this year Al and Ellis through their boards into the back of their vans and headed south of the border to seek out equally pumping but more sparsely populated lineups in Mexico.
