Three Gnarly Injuries & The Biggest Waves Ever Paddled At Rileys: Russell Bierke & Friends In Ireland

This day at Riley’s was one of those you hear about long before the footage drops.

It was one of those sessions which even those not prone to superlatives and hyperbole rave about. ‘Biggest waves ever paddled out there’ was called by at leat two in attendance. The list of injuries sustained spoke for itself; Gearoid tore his tendons, Conor smashed his face on the reef and Adrian broke his ankle. And now the footage has emerged as part of a brand new clip from O’Neill. And true to everyone’s word, it is crazy.

The session is proceeded by a few minutes of high performance action along Ireland’s wave rich coastline. It features Brits Peony Knight and Kit Innes, Irishmen Gearoid McDaid and Connor Maguire, Frenchman Nelson Cloarec, Spaniard Adrian Valderrama, making for a fine celebration of European surfing, with an Aussie stealing the show.
