Boards Of Legends; The Christian Bradley Story

A profile of the mind (and hands) of a man who spent his career shaping craft for legends.

Luke Gartside

29th June 2018

Perhaps Christiaan Bradley was born to be a shaper.

His formula of DNA was configured in a way that he was always going to be led into the shaping room. A man with exceptionally large hands and a conceptual passion that enjoys breaking boundaries. No one could have imagined that a kid from a small town in Tassy would end up shaping boards that would win world titles and change lives. Perhaps, it was just meant to be.

He shaped his first boards with his father at home in Tasmania before starting in the surfboard industry on the Gold Coast in Australia. A few years later, he traveled to Europe where he met Stephen Bell and landed the prime position of becoming the Channel Islands ghost shaper for Europe. This put him in contact with all the Channel Islands team and the greatest man to ever stand on a board, Kelly Slater. The Bradley label was born and it has never looked back.
