There’s no doubt that on it’s day Europe hosts some of the best waves on earth.

From some of those waves, those world class days might roll around every few months, for others it’s once a season, and for a select few, years can pass without ever seeing that really perfect day.

The wave featured here is one of those waves. Nestled among vast lava fields lays an outcrop of rock, that on the right combination of swell, wind and tide does an extremely compelling impression of Pipe.

When that combo popped up earlier this year, euro-chargers Nic Von Rupp, Miguel Blanco didn’t hesitate. They booked their flights and were joined by local boys Manuel Lezcano Cruz, Gines Diaz and Franito Saenz out in the lineup for a truly memorable run of waves:
