Dakine Welcomes Leon Glatzer To The Team

The young German goofy foot with a penchent for long lefts, big airs and deep kegs...

Luke Gartside

15th August 2018

Hawaiian hardware giants Dakine just announced the newest Euro addition to the team in the form of German expat Leon Glatzer.

Glatzer was born in Maui to German parents, who moved him out to Costa Rica at a young age. The 21 year old goofy foot grew up surfing the prime left hand point at Pavones, and now divides his time between Germany, Portugal and Costa Rica. If he’s not on the road. Leon is a true “tico” loves his reggaeton, but has an almost surgical, or let’s say German approach to airs: they are big and they are clean.

“I’m super happy to join team Dakine. It fits, DaKine is from Maui, I was born on the island.” he says. “But seriously, it just feels really good to be able to use the best possible gear while traveling and competing. Whether it’s pads, leashes or Dakine’s boardbags. I’ve always looked up this brand Because of its amazing athletes and the history it carries”

Here’s the clip the brand just dropped by way of a welcome into the fold:
