Wavelength Surf Magazine – since 1981

GALLERY: The Wavelength Drive-In Gets Rated As Best Thing To Do In Cornwall

We’re almost halfway through our summer of drive-in cinema, having already welcomed thousands of you through the gates for 25 afternoon and evening screenings of the greatest surf blockbusters, cult classics and family favourites on a giant 10m LED screen.

We’ve watched Matt, Jack and Leroy surf sparkling Malibu while the sun drops into the Atlantic just behind, sang sea shanties on the clifftops with the Fisherman’s Friends, weathered a mid-summer storm to ensure the Point Break show could go on, welcomed the director of cult classic Blue Juice for a round table discussion and (almost) had a pint with the pint-sized star of Top Gun.

As you’ll know, we’ve teamed up with some of our favourite brands to bring that festival feel to our clifftop site.

There’s gifts on arrival from Tony’s Chocolonely and Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, with Lucky Saint low alcohol beer and Sipsmith FreeGlider alcohol-free spirit both offering a free tipple for drivers over in our trade village.

There’s also delicious brew from Caravan Coffee Roasters, cannabis seltzer from Goodrays and a fully stocked bar featuring Korev Lager, The Uncommon wine, FeelGood natural sparkling water, Sassy Cider and Hippeas crips. Plus, a variety of food options, including hot dogs, jacket potatoes, popcorn and ice cream from Häagen-Dazs.

And for motorcycle fans, we’ve got  Harley Davidson and Royal Enfield on-site showing off their range of classic and contemporary bikes.

While we’ve had a blast so far, more than anything, we’ve been heartened by the response from our fantastic audience. Here’s what people have been saying:

“This is a great experience and venue. They have thought about everything… Easy and relaxed parking. Recommend getting there early, no so much to get a space but to enjoy all the other things they have laid on.” – Justin Wells

“Just go out and enjoy.. it is fabulous. The staff are the best and most attentive in customer service. The guys in the car park need a massive well done. The quality of the picture… sound and the view is all wow. A big 5 out of 5…” – Lily Tofte

“What a brilliant night out. We loved this. Fantastic location, great food and drink, wonderful music and the technology was awesome – excellent film and sound quality all round. Can’t wait to go again, and a fab offering for visitors.” – Ruth Sterling
