Ellie Turner Just Qualified For The Worlds And Dropped An Epic Clip

We’ve reported frequently and enthusiastically on how much 15 year old Ellie Turner has been killing it this year and last week she secured the result she’s been working towards all for the last seven months.

It came in the form of her third podium finish of the year in the European Pro Juniors, which in turn secured her a place in the World Junior Championships, set to take place at the beginning of January next year.

This is a really impressive feat considering the current standard of European junior surfing, amplified further by the fact that she is still only 15, meaning she still has three years left in the Junior category.

The climb to the top is still very much a long and arduous one, but Ellie has skipped playfully over the first hurdle, a couple of years before the cut off, standing her in very good stead for the future.

So how does it work from here? Well, a big result in the Pro Juniors would secure her a good QS seeding, which would in turn allow her to enter higher ranked events, with more points and prize money on offer, as well as skip the early rounds in lower ranked ones.

Unlike for the aspiring British boys, Ellie has a good role model in the form of Peony Knight, who has had several podium finishes in the QS 6000’s this year and will undoubtedly be able to offer some guidance and wisdom from the next rung up on the competitive ladder.

In addition to this competitive feat, Ellie has just dropped a brand new clip, featuring a more thorough look at her time spent in Indo this winter and it leaves little doubt as to how Ellie has achieved what she has this year.

Her high performance surfing already looks exceptionally well rounded, with excellent turn placement and overall technique on both her fore and backhands. Her carves are super stylish and her bottom turns seamless, avoiding the juddery and robotic technique that plagues some seasoned competitors, making her surfing a real pleasure to watch:
