Gianggaw Style

Lewis Harrison-Pinder

2nd December 2016

When issue 245’s cover shot hit our inbox, we were slightly intrigued by the Indonesian surf photographer behind the selection of speed blurred, retro-styled imagery.

Fortunately for us, in this digital age, a few Instagram messages later and we were in touch with Giang Alam Wardani, the talented thirty-two-year-old surf photographer hailing from Batukaras, an idyllic fishing village 20 miles west of Pangandaran on the Indonesian island of Java. We hope you find his unique style of capturing the classic wave riding of both local and travelling surfers as impressive as we do.
