The Gold Subscription

So as you’ve seen already we’re part funding the new Wavelength with a crowdfunder, it’s going pretty good so far and the Gold Sub offer is leading the way. So what is it? Well here it is from our new editor –

The idea of the sub is to give the loyal reader or someone who wants a future in making mags or creating content a say in what goes on with the magazine. Look at it as a kind of stake, without the risk. We are going to create an online forum, with a direct line to me so we can all discuss where the mag is heading. In the past mags have been closed books, the editorial team decide everything, but in the world of social media, there is a chance to bring the collective knowledge together.

So for every issue there will be two forums, one at the start of an issue, where everyone can have their say on what subjects they might want to see in there, what gear reviewed that sort of thing. We’ll also put before you the article options, three of which we will all actively decide on. The nature of surfing means we’ll leave a slot or two open for fresh swells and last minute scores.

Then just before the mag goes to print, we’ll throw up three cover choices, and between us all we’ll decide which one make page one. On top of all this anyone can put their thoughts and ideas direct to me at anytime, if we’re asking you to help us grow the mag, then you should all have a say in its future.
