It’s no secret that Canada is a land of pumping waves and beautiful unspoilt coastlines, however it’s not often you get to see it quite as good as this.

Watch local boy Pete Devries navigate his way around the craggy coastline, slipping into ice cold and perfectly formed pits as he goes. Devries’ barrel riding is second to none, so when you’re done marvelling at the quality of the waves and the sparsity of the crowds, take a second to dissect his seamless technique – that positioning, that take off, that read – as he threads more barrels than you’ve had hot dinners (probably):
