Introducing The Wavelength Surf Film Festival – The 4th September 2021

Wavelength

23rd July 2021

Since 1981

We’re excited to announce we’ll be rounding off our summer of drive-in cinema with a special two-day surf film festival on the 4th September, showcasing a variety of short and feature-length films on the big screen overlooking Watergate Bay.

While the season’s lineup includes many timeless surfing classics like North Shore, Point Break, Chasing Mavericks and Riding Giants, we decided to reserve the final weekend for the latest and greatest releases in surfing action and documentary.

With our new 10m LED screen, the weekend will offer the opportunity to enjoy the films as they were meant to be seen in vivid, big-screen technicolour, against a spectacular coastal backdrop. And, as with all our drive-in screenings, there’ll be much more on offer than just the movies, with live music, food and a fully stocked bar bringing the festival feel to our clifftop site.

As part of the billing, we’re inviting filmmakers both established and aspiring from around the world to submit their films for consideration. With several features already confirmed, this is your opportunity to show your work alongside some of the world’s greatest purveyors of surf cinema.

Please email all submissions to [email protected].

We’ll be announcing the full lineup in due course, with early bird tickets set to go on sale in just a few weeks.
