WATCH: Ireland As Good As It Gets With Will Skudin

Highlights from seven seasons spent charging in the Emerald Isle

Luke Gartside

18th June 2018

Anyone who knows anything about scoring waves in Ireland will be quick to tell you that to see her at her best, you’ve really got to put the time in.

No non-european charger has put in the hard graft quite as much as Will Skudin, who has just completed his seventh season in the Emerald Isle. The 32 year old hails originally New York, and has been chasing swells religiously since he was 17, gravitating towards Ireland in recent years for it’s unique blend of waves and culture.

“A few times a year, a tight group of cold water big wave surfers from Ireland and visiting countries all meet up in the North Atlantic to take on some cold monsters.” he explained of the edit. “Documenting these waves in such challenging conditions has been proven difficult. This short film takes you into those few moments of pure gold.”
