Japanese Typhoon Keg Fest!

Watch a crew of ripping locals enjoy an all time typhoon keg fest in Japan

Luke Gartside

7th August 2017

Typhoon season is surely the most wonderful time of the year for the Japanese surfer.

While the nation gets average waves year round, when August rolls around the massive crew of native frothers eagerly scour the charts, waiting for a low pressure Typhoon to appear and begin it’s march up from the South Pacific.

Here’s what it looks like when one such swell made land-fall recently, with Kenta Hayashi, Munetoyo Tanaka, Shuji Nishi, Keijiro Nishi, Joe Azuchi, and Momoto Tsuzuki in dutiful attendance.
