Kelly Slater On Politics, Monsanto And 911

Luke Gartside

2nd February 2016

Increasingly surfers and surfing are becoming involved with some of the biggest issues effecting the environment and society as a whole, both on a grass roots level (see The Plastic Project) and with a few attempting to permeate the higher echelons of policy making (see Fergal Smith, Dustin Barca). Kelly Slater has always suggested he has a keen interest and a vast span of opinions on such matters and here he gives the most comprehensive interview we’ve seen from him on topics other than surfing.  Keep an eye out for an extended Slater interview, where he covers a whole host of topics, both relating to surfing and not in the new mag, out soon.
