Dispatch From The London Premiere Of Andy Irons: Kissed By God

Last night saw the sell out London premiere of Andy Irons: Kissed by God go down at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square.

Revellers joined us for a pre-screening shindig at the Finisterre store in Covent Garden, where their spacious interior served as the perfect setting for city surfers to convene and sip on a few free ice cold beers.

As things wrapped up there, we made our way excitedly round the block to Leicester Square.

Despite London’s proximity to the surf, the crowd were clearly as invested in Andy’s story as anywhere and the anticipation was palpable, as 300 surf fans from all over the world took their seats in the cinema.

With beers and popcorn sorted, the drawing of the raffle kicked off proceedings, with lucky winners taking home a Wavelength subscription, some Stormrider goodies, a £100 Finisterre voucher and a Quiksilver wettie. We also welcomed another lucky finalist into the draw to win a Mentawais boat trip, with the excellent Bintang charters, the draw for which will take place at the end of our tour.

And then, the wait was over, and after a brief introduction, the film kicked off to hoots and yeews.

If you weren’t lucky enough to get a ticket to Leicester Square, we’ve still got a few left for our screening at the London Genesis Cinema tomorrow night, however we expect this to sell out today, so get in quick! Or, if you aren’t based in the big smoke, check out all of our other venues around the country here
