Here’s the first in a new three part series, featuring South African charger Matt Bromley hunting for slabs around Australia.

Hailing originally from Cape Town, 25 year old Matt Bromley began his career as a high performance free surfer, landing numerous mag covers, however a few years ago he realised it was big and heavy waves where his passion truly lay.

“At Jaws, I realised that it was possible to surf big waves without simply dropping straight down the face of them.” he told Surf Europe back in 2014 “It’s where I understood you can really surf big waves, it’s not just about the drop. It was of course a terrifying experience but at the same time gave me a whole new lease of motivation and today I’d like to start applying some of my barrel experience to surfing bigger waves.”

Since then he’s been popping up in big wave lineups all over the the world demonstrating a raw determination to pushing not only his own limits, but those of the sport in general. This new series of clips serves as a follow up to his critically acclaimed ‘Risky Business‘ which dropped last December, and was instantly earmarked as one of the best web clips to grace our screens in 2016. In episode one we find him traversing Australia in search of heavy slabs and crazy outer bombies.
