The New Wavegarden Cove Could Change Surfing Forever

Wavegarden just dropped the full length teaser featuring their new 'Cove' tech

Luke Gartside

10th May 2017

Hype has been building around the Wavegarden’s new Cove design and they’ve just released the first full clip of the wave being put to the test and it does not disappoint.

Featuring a whole host of CT surfers singing its praises, the clip shows both a frequency and adaptability never before seen in commercial wave technologies, with the capacity for a small but perfect, barreling wave every eight seconds, and customisable settings controlling both wave shape and size.

Whilst it’s not as jaw dropping as Kelly’s, it doesn’t face the issues of backwash that have dogged other designs, making it second to none for commercial and training purposes. This model is the first to ensure that both punters and serious surfers can catch more waves and try more manoeuvres over a single session than they would over several weeks in the sea and that could be a real game changer for the progression of the sport.
