It’s Not The Length Podcast Episode 5: Send Slater To Coventry

MARGARET RIVER, WESTERN AUSTRALIA - MAY 28: 11-time WSL Champion Kelly Slater of the United States speaks at the 2019 Margaret River Pro Press Session at Margaret River on May 28, 2019 in Western Australia, Australia.(Photo by Matt Dunbar/WSL via Getty Images).

Just like Luniz, INTL podcast has 5 on it, and by that we mean episodes on Soundcloud, iTunes, your phone’s pod app, or wherever you get your audio on demand!

That’s right, Wavelength’s award-deserving surf podcast is back featuring the latest news and views from hosts Paul Evans and Ben Mondy.

With the Australia (plus Bali) CT leg all wrapped up, and Mondy having watched every single heat live as part of his coverage for the WSL homepage, and Paul having watched none, the lads bring you the stories behind the stories:

Is Toledo too much of a wuss to win a World Title?

Could they just call the year off now and give titles to Florence and Gilmore??

Should Main Break rights & John John go down in history as one of the iconic surfer/spot relationships like Gerry at Pipe/Curren at J-Bay, etc???

Meanwhile, after the worst May ever in SW France for surf, Huey romps back into rude form in early June, allowing Paul to regale you with anecdotes of male nudity, two low tide surf days and a harrowing tale of barely surviving a full 30 min whinge to having foolishly asked, ‘Been surfing?’

Elsewhere, Paul advocates sending Slater to Coventry by getting the surf world to collectively ignore him, just to freak him out. No retirement chat, no board queries, no fan selfies, no… nothing. Just a pre Good Friday agreement Gerry Adams-style broadcast gag, and collective cold shoulders from everyone, everywhere.

The Social Media Police are back having made a record number of arrests. Celebrity surf collars being felt include the Keramas ducks, Johanne Defay, Bob Hurley, Strider and Kanoa Igarashi.

All told to put their trousers on… All reminded they have the right to remain silent… All nicked!
