OCEAN-INSPIRED MERMAID GIN PARTNER WITH WAVELENGTH FOR SUNDOWNER MOMENTS IN 2022

Isle of Wight based purveyors of the finest, hand-crafted spirits rooted in nature and botanicals, Mermaid Gin, have been announced as the official partner of the upcoming Wavelength Spring Classic.

Coming to the beating heartland of Devon’s surf community, Woolacombe Bay, the event is bringing surfing, live music, skating, nature and ride culture together in an epic three day festival this May.

Celebrating the raw adventure and nature at the heart of it all, Mermaid Gin have come onboard as the official partner to the weekend in North Devon, their deep-rooted connections to the outdoors and community a perfect fit for the free-spirited freedom of the Spring Classic.  Whether you’re checking out the retro surf jam at Combesgate Beach, getting stuck-in to the fire-pit cooking demos and skate jams, heading for a moto ride-out or taking in the wild views, it’s set to be an all-time classic weekender on the rugged North Devon coast.

With a focus on sustainability central to the Spring Classic, Mermaid Gin make it the perfect pairing, given their ethos around sustainability and protecting the environment.

Hand-crafted at the Isle of Wight Distillery since 2014, Mermaid Gin’s signature spirit delivers a smooth yet complex blend of fresh, organic lemon zest and peppery grains of paradise, with a hint of sea air from fragrant rock samphire. This coastal botanical, wild-foraged from the island’s cliffs, is known locally as ‘mermaid’s kiss’ – dreamy.  To toast the launch of the partnership, Mermaid are giving away two weekend camping tickets plus a Mermaid goodie bag – head to their website to enter.

The partnership is the first in a series of activations this year between Mermaid Gin and Wavelength, and we’re beyond stoked to share that they are also the title sponsor of our all new female-focussed and led podcast launching this spring, with Wavelength women’s editor Sophie Everard at the helm. Wavelength’s commitment to female-led storytelling is reaching its zenith in 2022, as women’s surfing reaches its most exciting, dynamic and diverse era.

You’ll also find Mermaid Gin partnering with us on the second Blue Earth Summit, hot on the heels of the huge success of the debut event last year, being held once again this October in Bristol.  The inaugural summit saw an incredible line-up of speakers and panels, with over 800 attendees drawing inspiration and revelling in the freedom of an in-person gathering over two impactful days. The Blue Earth Summit 2022 will focus on the broad themes driving carbon positive business and proactive, healthy mindsets.
