The Outrider: A new film project from the guys behind FREEZING

Remember these guys? Well they’re at it again.

If you’re into your surf films you will probably remember the first time you sat down to watch Freezing, the comedy surf brainchild of Rob Lockyear and Jeremy Joyce at Two Eyes Films.

The coldwater mockumentary starring Jamie Baughan lovingly put two fingers up to surfing’s obsession with the cold-water narrative, pocking fun at Surf contingent dedicated cold water explorers  and reminding everyone why we love surfing so much. We think we’re cool, but we’re really not.

Now the boys are at it again, with a follow up to what Jamie Baughan described as their “surf parody… but a very loving one,” and previous projects including #Vanlife and The Shaper.

Inside The Ride, a feature length surf documentary will follow five surfers from around the world as a five-part comedy series. If all goes to plan, episode one and the pilot for the series, The Outrider, will premier this September at the London Surf Film Fest.

It’s anchor? North Shore shaper, Mike Strident, who in 1979, shaped the most radical board ever ridden – The Outrider. But then the thruster happened and the rest is history – the Two Eyes team need your help and your money to tell the story.

Their Kickstarter campaign is aiming to raise £10,000 for the project and there are prizes to be won for chipping in.

Check out twoeyesfilm.com or the Kickstarter campaign for a sneaky read about the project, it could become another comedy surf classic.
