WATCH: Perfect Winter Walls In Hossegor

While Autumn in Hossegor is well known for its square barrels, wild nightlife and crazy crowds, winter along the Landes coastline is a whole different beast.

When the h-offshore wind howls and the swell ticks up above a certain size, huge stretches of La Côte D’Argent are transformed into a surfing playground of an altogether different kind. Makeable barrels are a little scarcer but solid, perfectly clean walls are ten a penny and if you’ve got a ski to whip you in, they’re yours for the taking.

Here we find Miky Picon and Ben Sanchis living for the speed-line and just occasionally, throwing their tow boards on a rail to watch them cut like a knife through butter left out of the fridge for just the right amount of time. Oh baby.
