Heat 5 of of RD 3 yesterday at the Billabong Pro Tahiti saw arguably the two best left hand barrel riders in the world go head to head at fun sized Chopes. Unlike many heats that look to be all time on paper, this one delivered, producing what is without a doubt one of the most entertaining of the year so far. Sitting next to each other on the rankings (at 14th and 15th) and with Gabby looking to defend his title and John John looking to bounce back from his injury, the boys were going blow for blow from the minute the horn blew.
