Reef welcomes Mitch Crews

Samantha Thomas

21st July 2014

Mitch Crews has had a fairly varied rookie year on tour so far, interspersing various RD 2 exits with spectacular achievements, like beating Slater in Brazil. Whilst Crews is keen to make a dent in the ratings this year, his surfing aspirations extend further than just contest results:

“I want people to enjoy watching me surf and I want them to see me for who I am. That’s the coolest thing about Reef is that they really want their riders to have that freedom to go chase waves and do their thing.I’ve always been a fan of Reef and the whole ‘Just passing through,’ thing. It sums surfers up pretty well; we’re just gypsies chasing waves.”

We look forward to seeing the fruits of Crewsy and Reef’s new partnership, both in terms of results on tour and web clips, the first of which has just dropped..
