Ryan Hipwood has been chasing down some of the world’s heaviest waves for over a decade.
After a series of XXL nominations and high profile wipeouts in 2011 and 2012, he went a little quiet over the subsquent few years, describing in his new clip how he took a bit of time out to spend with his family, introspect and ultimately re-discover his passion for surfing big waves.
Recently he’s been back in the big wave spotlight, landing a 10 point ride (and ride of the year nomination) at The BWT Jaws comp back in October.
