Someone Just Bought A Surfboard With The KFC Colonel’s Face On It For $3000

They say there are a million ways to separate a fool from his money and today, the world’s favourite mucky chicken brand set out to prove it.

A few hours ago a range of new product appeared on the KFC site that deviates somewhat from their regularly scheduled programming of poultry and slaw. The range, dubbed the ‘most Aussie KFC merch’, included a flattering pair of budgie smugglers, a bar of KFC surf wax and a surfboard emblazoned with the image of the colonels face.

There ain’t much technical spec available for the stick, which was instantly snapped up for a cool 3k Aussie dollars, however the site does proclaim that it’s ‘full size’ and ‘made of fibreglass’. It does however state that there’s also only one in the world.

The last few years have seen a huge influx in ludicrously expensive novelty surfboard collectables, made by everyone from Gucci to Samsung. The most recent was a Tessla and Lost carbon fibre collab, which sold for 1.5k a pop and unlike many ornamental pieces, it’s actually supposed to go pretty well!

The jury’s still out on what this KFC number rides like, but to the company’s credit the entire Aussie merch range is being sold for a good cause, with all proceeds going to youth foundations around Australia, including Youngcare, Streetwork, and Reachout.
