The Delights Of Spring In Cornwall

Whilst the end of winter and beginning of spring was dogged by long periods of northerlies and small waves, the last month or so has ushered in an abundance of fun sized swell, mixed with offshores and sun.

The banks too have been left perfectly chiseled in some places by the onshore onslaught, producing perfectly shaped runners in forgotten coves up and down the coastline.

Friendly conditions and raising water temps have welcomed everyone to the party

For the after work crowd, the last month has seen of the return of those long warm evenings, which culminate in spectacular sunsets and see swathes of surfers sticking it out until the last light fades from the sky.

Whilst friendly conditions and raising water temps have welcomed everyone to the party, there have still been near-empty line ups to be found for those willing to take a little drive up or down the coast.

Here are how some of Cornwall’s best surfers have been passing the time:

Clean regimented lines marching pointedly toward the shore, before spilling over onto a chiseled mound of sand.Reubyn Ash flies into the light spring breeze on fun day at home. Sometimes whether you're properly in there is unimportant- it's the vision that counts. Angus Scotney unleashes his backhand attack, finely tuned from a year spent travelling the world, back where it all started for him at North Fistral. James Parry perches neatly on his heels between azure water and bright white sand. Oli Adams boost a backside rotor as the sun dips on the south coast.Mike Lay hangs ten as the sun beats down on a tropical day out west. Small and perfectly formed waves under cloudless skies greet revellers upon their arrival atop the dunes on a picture perfect day. Harry Timson enjoys the fruits of a novelty wedge. Jobe Harriss releases the tail with precision Last light lines at North Fistral as a keen few after workers wait for the sun to totally disappear. Tom Lowe recently qualified for the BWT, however he still enjoys laying into one foot walls as much as anyone else. Up close and personal with Harry Timson as he lays back into the section. Jay Quinn eyeing up the end section as the sun sets.
