Surfer Delivered Sushi By Drone, Eats It In The Barrel

They says that everything’s been done, and indeed there is a long history of marketing gimmicks that involve a surfer using or consuming products during a session, however this is the first time we’ve seen a food stuff delivered directly to the line up by drone.

Remember, for example, when Kolohe Andino ordered a pizza from inside the barrel at Teahupoo? Or when Mikey Bennan drank a beer at a crazy Aussie Slab, or when Medina got a board made with a giant phone screen embedded in the nose?

Well, this current incarnation is a little lower budget, but equally as impressive (if impressed is an emotion you feel when watching marketing gimmicks). The clip is a promotion for a Lisbon based Sushi Restaurant, to advertise the fact they now offer home (and drone?) delivery.

If the previous examples are anything to go by, the Ad is bound to induce malice in some viewers, however its protagonist Pedro Boonman is undeniably skilled at the two tasks he performs in the clip – tasks which many would admit to struggling with; eating with chopsticks, and getting barrelled, and for that we figured it was worth a share.

Enjoy!
