Surfing the Zambezi

Luke Gartside

5th November 2015

We’re a big fan of river surfing and its associated cultures around the world here at WL. Often practiced miles from the nearest coastline, standing waves and tidal bores create unique inland surf communities, filled with passionate and eccentric characters who dedicate themselves whole heartedly to chasing their chosen river wave experience. One thing these experiences sometimes lack however is a good head dip, so we’re always on the look out for clips featuring freshwater tube time. Here’s a cool one thats popped up again recently filmed on the Zambezi River in Africa and featuring Andrew Matthews.
