Impractically awesome rides at Wheels and Waves The best bad way of getting to the beach.

Everyone knows motorbikes are the most impractical way of going surfing.

At best you’re only taking one mate with you, room for boards? Nope. Somewhere safe to stash your clothes/wallet/phone? Nope. Shelter from the rain/wind/snow? Nope. Even in moto-friendly countries like Indonesia or Sri Lanka it still feels like you’re dicing with death just to get to the waves.

But screw all that, they look really cool and even if you’re on a shagged out old Cub 50, you’re still going to feel like Steve McQueen. Here’s some of the best bikes we saw at Wheels and Waves, just to rouse your inner Evel Knievel.
