The Royal Enfield X Wavelength Beach Hopper Ride Out

Luke Gartside

11th August 2021

In association with Royal Enfield and their Riders Club of Europe, we’re excited to announce that our ‘Beach Hopper Ride Out’ is coming to Cornwall on the 4th of September. Participation is absolutely free, and all makes and models of motorbike are welcome and encouraged.

Taking place on the Saturday of the Wavelength Surf Film Festival, the event will see riders departing from our clifftop site at Watergate Bay and heading north along the coast to Padstow, before looping around and finishing back at the festival with a cold beer in front of the big screen.

The ride will form part of Royal Enfield’s ‘Open It Up’ campaign, which has seen the brand join forces with suicide prevention charity CALM to help more motorcyclists get the help they need to protect their mental health.

Incorporating a whole range of fundraising activations and initiatives, the nationwide push aims to raise awareness of the issues as well as providing practical support for those who need it.

“We are always looking for new ways to encourage behavioural change and tackle the stigma that prevents people talking about mental health,” says Simon Gunning, CEO of CALM.

“Going out on your motorbike, getting together and connecting with motorcycle enthusiasts is a great and simple way of doing that – people are relaxed and in a familiar environment so they’re more likely to open-up. Our partnership with Royal Enfield allows us to do just that. By opening the door to thousands more people, and in particular those who are in the most at-risk age groups, we can continue to play an important role in challenging the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide, taking another step forward in creating long-term cultural change.”

With 160 spots up for grabs, it’s the perfect way to support better conversations around mental health, celebrate 40 years of Wavelength and 120 years of Royal Enfield.
