Wavelength Surf Magazine – since 1981

Cornwall’s Premier Drive-In Cinema Is Back For 2021!

The Wavelength Drive-in Cinema is back for 2021, bringing you another summer of family favourites, cult classics and iconic surf flicks from a stunning new clifftop location overlooking Watergate Bay.

Running from the 16th of July until the 5th of September, we can’t wait to welcome you back for 8 weekends of cinema, sunsets and good times in what Timeout Magazine are calling one of the world’s most beautiful outdoor cinema settings.

This year, we’ve opted for a much larger LED screen, delivering enhanced picture quality, better visibility and allowing us to add family-friendly afternoon screenings to the bill. Plus, our improved on-site selection of food trucks and bars will be delivering direct to your car so you can skip the queues and ensure you’ve got a beer and a burrito to enjoy with the sunset.

Our 21 film line up has just been announced, with early bird tickets already live and expected to sell fast over on our Drive-in mini-site. Among the roster, we’ve got a host of new additions playing alongside last year’s biggest box office hits. For families, there’s ocean-themed favourites Surfs Up, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moana and many more, while lovers of cult comedy will be stoked to see Ferris Bueller’s Day Off join classics like Grease, Dirty Dancing and Jaws.

Plus, we’ll be welcoming back Cornish shanty sensations The Fisherman’s Friends for 5 exclusive live performances, followed by the screening of their film.

For surf fans, we’ve got the return of Blue Juice, Endless Summer II and Point Break, plus five action-packed new additions. Our opening weekend will see us kicking off proceedings with Malibu-based coming of age classic Big Wednesday, followed a few weeks later by the iconic Blue Crush and the charmingly cheesy North Shore.

Then, later on in the bill, we’ll have the critically acclaimed big wave documentary Riding Giants and biographical epic Chasing Mavericks, before rounding things out on our final weekend with the Wavelength Surf Film Fest, featuring a hand-picked selection of surfing shorts.

Tickets are £26 for a car and driver pass and £6 for passengers, or £7 for an open-air cinema pass, for those keen to roll out a blanket and deck chairs rather than park up in front of the screen.

Click here to browse the full lineup and get your tickets now and we’ll see you this summer for a clifftop sundowner.
