In the Family of Things

Filmed by Nathan Oldfield and long-time collaborator Dave Rastovic, this short effortlessly came together over consecutive mornings during a long run of autumn swell.

“In The Family Of Things’ is a small, simple celebration of the gift of being alive,” Nathan said of the inspiration behind the production. “For me, the film is about belonging, about finding our place in the suchness of things. About being at home in ourselves, just the way we are, and in the present, just the way it is. About being awake to the beautiful realization that each of us are siblings of the Infinite. Each of us belongs in this world. I really feel like this is a message that people, particularly young people, deserve to hear.”

Tip: this is best viewed on the big screen.

Siska

Despite never seeing another woman surf, Siska Tasiripoula began surfing at 11-years-old on the tiny shore-breaks of Toloulaggo, a hidden jungle paradise.

In doing so she became the first female surfer of Mentawai and is a true pioneer riding a finless, snapped, wax-less and leggy-less surfboard, which she received after many months of persistent begging to her older brother Mull.

Have you ever imagined doing something that nobody has done before? Are you brave enough to pursue what you love and not care what anyone thinks?
