Tom Butler talks Mullaghmore and Big waves

That wave was mega for me a few weeks back at Mullaghmore I have wanted to ride a deep tube out there and paddle it for a long time.
I started paddle surfing @ Mully before i towed it.. I’m a Mully vet ha! ha! for real! I’ve put in at least 50 hours out there in the water normally being first team out in the a.m and last team back in the evening, all that experience is paying off for me in a great way.. So stoked to get the view way back inside one
Mully is the place I fell in love with big wave surfing and learnt a lot and met a shed load of legendary surfers and people out on that headland so have deffo got one or two of my roots connected out on that head!
I’m going over to Hawaii for a large part of this winter, turning my back on Ireland and Mullaghmore, without accomplishing the tube i just have, well?!… Will be hard watching all the boy’s video’s and pictures coming out of Ireland ! Paddling this beast has given me a lot more confidence going into Hawaii, will it make Pipe feel easy? Time will tell! – not gonna be easy but feel like I could hold on tight through any tube after trucking my way through this one!! Big shout to my sponsors Urban beach clothing Osprey wetsuits Luke Hart @ Fourth surfboards, Future fins and Ocean & earth.
