A peak behind the curtain of your most treasured surfing slices from the year just gone.   

On our Instagram account, we’ve been doing a countdown of the 25 most-watched clips of 2022. For the top 10, which will get us to the dying embers of the year, we thought we’d dig a little deeper into the videos themselves.

It’s a peak behind the curtain on just why these slivers of surfing from 2022 proved so popular with the Wavelength faithful. You’re a strange bunch, sure, but you know your surfing, and you know what you like. And that’s what we love about ya.

No. 4: Leo Fioravanti Slays Coxos

Portugal had a banging start to 2022. A six-week run of pumping swell earlier in the year was blessed by blue skies and offshore winds. Coxos was ridiculous, with day after day of epic conditions.

However, this day was the pick of an exceptional bunch, with seasoned locals calling it one of the best days in the last decade. The Italian Leo Fioravanti, who owns an apartment just up the hill from the wave, was on hand for the whole month of February’s waves. He scored the best of the wave of day on the best day of the decade and, as you can see by his reaction, struggled to believe it really happened. It did, and this is it.
