Tributes Pour In As Search For Quiksilver CEO Pierre Agńes Called Off

Two days ago Pierre Agńes’ fishing boat was found empty washed up on the shores of La Graviere.

After a 48 hours of tireless searching along the Landes coastline, the coastguard has officially called the search off. Mr Agnes was last heard from on Tuesday morning, when he contacted the Capbreton harbour masters to say he would postponing his return due to dense fog. While it is not yet known what happened subsequently, some have speculated his boat may have capsized due to the large swell running, or even been hit by a larger vessel.

Mr Agnes has worked for Quiksilver for nearly 30 years, and was appointed CEO back in 2015. He is a beloved family man, avid surfer, fisherman and all round good guy and he will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

Since the news broke tributes have been pouring in from around the world and we too would like to extend our condolences to his friends, family and everyone in the wider surf community.
