December’s been a kind month so far for swells — not so much for wind, but who really cares about that when just about every sheltered spot had its cake and ate it.
When multiple XXL swells light up the North Atlantic, it is signal fire for goose chase extraordinaires all across the western flank of the Old Continent. For those into the heavy water lure of Portugal’s behemoth Nazare, it’s been an astounding few weeks of back-to-back gold. Here, we picked out five rides that caught our eye. This is not XXL Nazare, more XL, but that doesn’t mean it’s still not pure spectacle.
