Brazilian-born Europe-based surfer Michelle Des Bouillons recently joined Aussie desert dweller Imogen Caldwell (and her other half) for a heavy-water surf mission in the outback.
After getting a taste for bigger waves during a strike mission to solid Desert Point a few years back, Des Bouillons has been quietly putting her time in at Nazare over the last few winters, notching up a series of impressive multi-storey tow rides at the spot. Last winter she decided to swap the impact vest and freezing offshore hose-downs for warmer waters in West Aus, hitting up Imogen Caldwell, her other half Courtney Brown and local charger Ry Craike to show her around and whip her into a few.
