WATCH: John John & Rasta Surf Empty Blue Wedges

Dan Ross has had an intriguing surf career, hasn’t he?

Remember when he won the Newquay Boardmasters and then requalified for the tour? No? What about how he did the following season? No, me neither really.

But, I do know there’s a photo of him above Newquay’s North Shore shop, surfing a fickle and formidable slab in the farthest reaches of the British Isles. I also seem to remember hearing or reading somewhere that he paddled there. Which, given the swell that was running that day and the inherent treachery, is a seriously impressive feat. Overall, I’d say Dan Ross makes a pretty good case that even if you ain’t Curren or Dane Reynolds, there’s still plenty of surfing life beyond the tour.

In this recent edit, we find him on a not-so-recent trip with Rasta (a man in his own league regarding the aforementioned) and JJF, a world champion who many think may soon go the same way. In it, the trio surf the illustrious wedges of King Island and chat about being introverts. Enjoy:
