WATCH: John John’s Pre-Pipe Battle Cry

Luke Gartside

7th December 2020

Over the last few years, it’s become common practice among CT surfers to drop a clip immediately before a comp, filmed around the locale in which its set to take place.

These web edits serve as a battle cry of sorts; a reminder to us and the rest of the field of what they’re capable of.

With just a few days to go before the WSL kicks off the Hawaiian leg of its new look 20/21 season, John John dropped this clip, featuring him tearing chunks out of lineups up and down the seven-mile miracle.

With a stickerless board and no knee brace to speak of (two clues which attest to the freshness of the footage), he’s looking as sharp as ever and hungry to reclaim his Pipe Masters title.
