Watch: Kelly Slater in a Different Light

“F*ck, what a day of surfing right there. It’s got to be one of the better days ever of competition,” said Kelly Slater in this four minute short film showcasing his time spent around the 2026 OuterKnown Tahiti Pro. Earlier in the WSL season we were blessed with what some are claiming the best day of competitive surfing ever, as the World Tour posted up in Tahiti for its annual stop.

Best day of competitive surfing ever you say?! Of course, Kelly Slater had to be involved. The 54-year-old and event wildcard went on an absolute rampage during the event taking down some of the world’s current best surfers and posting the highest heat score total of the 2026 season so far. Firmly showcasing he’s worthy of the GOAT title.

However, this documentary  ‘Kelly + Tahiti’ shows a side to Kelly we don’t all get to see so often. Through the lens of life-long friend Todd Glaser, we get an intimate glimpse of competition, family and Kelly’s life with his two young children; Tao and Azumi. Alongside his partner, Kalani as he spends some time in one of his favourite places on earth.

Hit play on the video above to dive into Kelly’s personal life intended to show an intimate view on what surfing at the highest level looks like through the eyes of his two-year-old son.
