In 2010, a little younger, but just as adventurous Kepa Acero embarked on a journey of self discovery across Western Africa. As part of his trip, he crossed paths with a young 15-year-old boy named Yassine. With a significant language barrier in their way, they held a connection built solely from the sharing of waves, tajines and countless good memories together. Kepa then continued to head south, and they never saw each other again.
Jump 15 years to now. Yassine, now known widely as Snoopy Style — a local legend of Taghazout town — known for his infectious laugh and playful attitude to life.
‘Kingdom Of The Evening’ is a 40 minute film, that shares the story of Kepa and Snoopy rekindling their friendship for the first time since Kepa had headed south all those years ago.
But so much has changed, both in life and location; especially around Taghazout – Morocco’s answer to Bali. So, together with filmmaker Ayoub Abouizza alongside; another one of Kepa’s lost connections from his original quest, they embark on a journey to discover what once was found right there in Taghazout – empty lineups and that feeling of discovery that first brought these three adventurous souls together.
