“This is for anyone who was told they shouldn’t, or couldn’t do something.” Laura Crane’s emotional speech at the Wavelength UK Surfer Awards, after winning Big Wave Surfer — Female award, barely left a dry-eye in the joint.
The awards went down in front of a packed out crowd in Newquay. Lukas Skinner won his second Male Surfer of the Year, presented by YETI and Lucy Campbell won the Female Surfer of the Year, presented by YETI. The evening also saw North Devon’s Belle Betteridge scoop the Newquay Boardriders Expression Session supported by Wavelength and YETI, taking home a load of YETI goodies plus £500 in cash.
