Wavelength presents the Spring Classic

As 2021 draws to a close with it comes the end of Wavelength’s 40th year. But what happened to the birthday party?

Back in the Spring we’d planned on celebrating by throwing our first ever festival, but the universe had other ideas and we had to put plans on ice. But rather than retreat quietly into middle-agedness we’ve got new dates in the diary, and you’re all invited!

In May ’22 we’re heading to the sunny shores of Woolacombe for a weekend of surf, live music, skate, moto, classic campers and ride culture. The Spring Classic will take place on a hidden stretch of North Devon hilltop, with stunning panoramic views overlooking the ocean.

Wavelength Priority Booking

Tickets go on general sale at the end of January, but we’re offering Wavelength readers priority access to join us for three days of the good life in Woolacombe next Spring. Weekend tickets start from £80 and you’ll need to follow this link to get access to priority tickets.

This brand new festival site will play host to headline live music acts and DJs, plus the legendary local Marisco nightclub reimagined for one weekend only. The first wave of music acts will be announced in January, but expect an eclectic mix of genres, with plenty to keep the party rolling after dark.

The morning after the night before we’ll be on hand to help remedy any sore heads, with morning yoga sessions, cold water swimming, good food and fresh coffee aplenty. (Bloody Mary, optional.)

Of course it wouldn’t be a Wavelength event without surfing and we’ve teamed up with the Woolacombe Boardriders to throw a retro surf jam at Combesgate Beach. The Spring Classic Invitational will see a mix of top-level surfers and local standouts from around the south west and beyond ‘compete’ on a range of retro crafts.

We say compete in the loosest sense, as this will be all about who’s having the most fun, with judging criteria based on hang-loose style and surfers assigned boards ranging from single-fin mals to retro twins at the start of their heat.

In between music and surfing there’ll be skate jams, fire-pit cooking demos, a moto ride-out, daytime activities for kids, live art installations and lots more.

So, what are you waiting for? Get the 27-30th May in the diary with your friends and family for a classic festival by the coast. Priority tickets are on sale now, but are limited in number and will close before tickets go on general release. Check out the Spring Classic website here and follow this link to get priority ticket access.

Let the good times roll!
