Wavelength Surf Magazine – since 1981

Introducing: The Wavelength Surf Fest; An Evening Of Surf Cinema From The Cliffs Of Watergate Bay

Over the last 9 weeks, we’ve had a blast welcoming thousands of you along to our summer of drive-in cinema for cult classics from the clifftops of Cornwall.

To celebrate the end of an excellent run, we’re kicking off our final weekend with a special evening of surf cinema on Friday 4th September.

Alongside the iconic Dogtown & Z-Boys documentary, we’ll be showing a series of surf shorts, offering you the chance to get together with your mates and enjoy some recent releases on the big screen, against a beautiful ocean backdrop, with a beer in hand.

You can either drive-in and park up in front of the screen, as with our previous events, or for the reduced price of £7.50, you can grab a special tipi pass and pull up a chair in our bar area, or watch from inside one of our large tipis.

The evening will kick off with a pair of shorts by local filmmaker Seth Hughes, featuring two of Cornwall’s best longboarders. ‘Cynevin’, starring Mike Lay and ‘Brink,’ starring Adam Bearman Griffits; each a beautifully crafted ode to our fine isles, featuring corners of the local coastline in all their glory, guaranteed to get you amped for the winter season ahead.

Then, seminal surf/ skate origin story Dogtown & Z-Boys.

And finally, Torren Martyn’s Lost Track New Zealand presented by needessentials.

The film serves as follow up to the much-celebrated Australia edition, released in 2016, and follows Torren and his best mate/ filmmaker Ishka Folkwell as they head off around New Zealand on motorbikes, taking in the country’s incredible scenery and waves as they go.

For two-wheeled enthusiasts, we’ll be hosting a group motorbike ride, starting at the event site in Watergate Bay at 2pm, heading up to Padstow and then looping back in time for the evening’s festivities.
