Founded in California, the first Eco surf brand Wave Tribe now opens its European HQ.
Wave Tribe’s goal is to reduce the ecological footprint of surfers.
Founder Derek Dodds: “7 years ago I was on a surf trip in Mexico with some friends and it suddenly stood out to me how much plastic we had with us. All the boardbags and other accessories were made of plastic. The stuff us surfers want to keep out of the oceans!” Derek founded the surfers reply to the plastic soup: Wave Tribe. In 7 years it grew to become one of the recognised brands in the Californian surf scene.
Boardbags are made from Hemp, Leashes and Boardsocks from recycled plastic and deckpads are made out of Cork. The quality of the gear fits a premium brand.
Wave Tribe forms a community of surfers who want to be eco responsible when performing their sport and supports its members with advice and tips on how to improve eco surf behaviour.
