Willy Aliotti Almost Loses Fingers In Motorised Hydrofoil Accident

WARNING: Gory pics within!

Luke Gartside

26th December 2019

Hossegor based surfer Willy Alliotti has been back home in his native St Martin for the few weeks soaking up the sun and festive vibes.

His trip was going swimmingly; all catching up with old friends, doing punts on perfectly wind tickled lefts and whizzing about crystal blue lagoons on his motorised foil board- then three days ago, it all went tits up.

After coming unstuck, Willy fell hand first into the rotating blade of his foil motor, slicing his middle and ring fingers straight down the middle. Luckily the surgeons were able to save his – which from the gory AF pics he just posted on his instagram looks like a pretty impressive feat of restoration- and his hand is now resting up on its way to a full recovery.

“Good news!!” he wrote on Instagram, “I got to keep my fingers … it’s going to take a fews weeks to hill.. the surgery went pretty well as you can see.” [sic]

We wish Willy the speediest of recoveries!
