Winterized Surfboards From Endevour

Luke Gartside

22nd August 2014

Get into more waves & surf longer in cold water with Winterized boards by Clayton and Matt Barrow.

“With our Winterized boards, your performance stays hot when the temperature drops.” said Endeavour Executive Shaper Matt Barrow.

“Our Winterization means we can add the extra volume you need for cold water surfing AND retain all the performance & features of our proven shapes. Its about smart ways to overcome the effects of thicker heavier wet-suits and the energy sapping cold.”

“For example, my COLD WATER GTO has around 1 litre extra volume compared to the stock board of the same length. But this includes the effect of the 6 channels that gives this design so much drive. The extra float is hidden in the forward part of the board and towards the rails – to maximize the benefit for minimum performance impact. We’ve combined this with tiny changes to the thickness and width.

End result: you get a board that retains its proven high performance but also now includes enough extra volume to get you into more waves when you are wearing a thick wet-suit.”

Standard wisdom is to buy a longer board for the winter – but the Endeavour Winterization approach makes this unnecessary. Endeavour have invested in R&D to come up with a systematic process to add volume without compromising performance or for you to need a longer board. They’ve even updated their sizing tables to make choosing the right board easy – with a neat on-line clicky calculator thingy and a configurator so you can customise your board precisely.

And we’ve got one to give away, totally customisable to your own personal size, colour and tail design preferences. Click the picture below for details on how to enter.
