WSL announces 2016 Tour Schedule

The WSL has just announced the schedule for next years events for both the mens and women’s CT comps.

Whilst there are no major changes two bits of news caught out attention: The first being the welcome announcement that North Point has been added as  a back up to the Drug Aware Pro after this year saw it absolutely pumping for a few days during the waiting period, with web clips dropping showing some ct guys getting far better waves than they were doing over at the comp site. And the second being the inclusion of J-bay, a topic which has been up for much debate since Mick’s little run in back in July. Here’s what Comish Kieren Perrow had to say on the matter:

“Athlete safety is a top priority for the league. We have been in constant discussions with our athletes, event organizers and administrators regarding the future of this event. The WSL has made significant investments in the areas of surveillance and response for all current and future Tour spots, and we are currently working with a number of firms specializing in mitigation technology that focus on both athlete safety and the safety of the marine environment.”

Perrow continued: “The strides we’re making in the areas of surveillance and response are significant, but there presently exists no technology that has been proven to be 100 percent effective. Our athletes are aware of this, as they have always been.”
