Bournemouth Surfers Up In Arms Over Jet Ski Beach Delivery Service

Bournemouth surfers are up in arms after Deliveroo announced that it would soon be offering a jet ski food delivery service to beach revellers.

The surf community has come to blows with jet skiers this year, after they accused a pack driving through the narrow and incredibly crowded surf zone either side of the pier of being being dangerous and reckless, with this announcement stirring tensions once again.

The south coast seaside resort has also had major issues with litter this summer, with rubbish and personal belongings left covering the beach after a long day and local surfer Gordon Fontaine thinks a take away delivery service would only exacerbate the problem.

“It’s wrong on so many levels. All for what, convenience!? You’ve got to be kidding… Who approves these things? Have they ever even been to the beach and seen the amount of trash everywhere? People have no respect and that’s not going to help.” he said on Facebook.

Another user, Cliff Culver, suggested that the surf and SUP community should club together to oppose the plans, as well as ask for the support of organisations such as Surfers Against Sewage and Dorset Devils who are instrumental in campaigning for cleaner beaches and the safety of surfers and all water users.
